Can I still rank my website by hiding the content?
Does Google still acknowledge or bring any SEO value of the content if it ONLY appear in the view-source WITHOUT showing the content on the website?

I see some competitors ranking on 1st page . A domain less than a year.
Without any content, it looks as if it's a landing page? And it ranks better than a website with rich content.
How is this possible?
I don't think Google will take into consideration content that is not present on the page itself. 

It could be getting traffic from other means(Social media) and consequently ranking for those keywords with little content. 

Can't say. Will need to look at the website/kw b4 ascertaining what is happening.

Hidden contents are no longer seen as an effective SEO technique. Search engines like Google have better algorithms now not like before.
