Traditional style: timeless and unmissable We start with the style most frequently represented I think, for years, in wedding photography. It is often this style that comes naturally to people's minds when they are referred to as "wedding photo" because it is "historic". It can sometimes be "a little cliché" in people's minds, but it is nevertheless very appreciated, and very often requested by the bride and groom. This current of wedding photos usually gives timeless photos, and does not pass with time or fashions. The photos are rather posed, and the photographer guides the models. The ideal with this style is to put the bride and groom at ease, and to establish mutual trust, to obtain beautiful shots with soft and natural expressions, despite sometimes more "frozen" poses. Even when we are a fan of other styles of photos (presented below), we are often led to make some more "traditional" photos during our reports, for example, for photos of couples or groups. These photos are often requested by the bride and groom or their relatives, for donations for the family, or for enlargements in the living room. The FineArt / Editorial look for very soft and chic photos In wedding photography, the FineArt style often describes clean, romantic, rather posed photographs. They are very bright, clear, with predominant pastel colors. These are usually very soft photos, both in terms of colors, light, but also the emotions they give off. When we talk about FineArt/editorial photos to popularize, I would say: "magazine-style photos of wedding dresses"." Well, it may be very rude and limited as a description on my part, but I'm sure you know what I mean! Forget crazy photos in general with this style, which is often rather "chic" and full of sweetness. The Current Moody Intensity, passion, contrasts and strong emotions... All this is characteristic of the "moody" look for the wedding photo. Moody photographers play a lot with shadows and lights, which sometimes gives rather dark photos, at least much more than in the FineArt photo which is considered almost as the "opposite" look. However, the "moody" photos can also be very bright. But the light is then located on a part of the image, rather than on the whole photo, the blacks are intense, and the whites are generally rather creamy. The emotions depicted are generally very strong and intense in this photographic current. The "moody" look is sometimes available in "moody warm" or "cold moody" (yes, in English you see it always has more effect! :-p). The contrasts and the play of lights are similar, but the colors are either very cold (blue, green...) or very hot (orange). This Moody look can also be confused sometimes with the drama look described below. The borders are a little fine between all this, you'll excuse me! The photos we put just below to illustrate this look, illustrate rather the "moody warm" (because they are very orange). The "moody" look (in his shot, you will have understood) generally lends itself well to rock'n'roll weddings, atypical, couples a little adventurous, crazy, emotional, and events taking place in places decorated with natural materials, like old buildings with stone walls, barns with wooden beams, forest ... Rather than in the middle of the afternoon on a white sand beach. But anything is possible again of course, this style comes in forever!
